The Oscaleta Road culvert over the channel between Lakes Oscaleta and Waccabuc was deteriorating and the Town obtained a grant for its repair. The culvert collapsed on March 15, 2026, and the Town installed temporary set of pipes and road surface on March 26, 2026. A pictorial history of the culvert, the collapse, and the repair is at this photo history link. On March 26, the engineering firm Tectonic presented the plans and options for the culvert replacement.
