Lewisboro Town Lakes Management Plan

LakesPlan

The Town of Lewisboro contracted with EcoLogic LLC to provide a Town-wide Lake Management Plan.  The Lewisboro Lakes Committee accepted that report in January, 2009.   The plan included targets for phosphorus reduction for each lake, and offered potential management strategies.  These included improving septic systems, stormwater management, and stakeholder education.

The elements of the report include:

Executive summary:  A summary of status and action items in eight pages.

Activist Report:  A single page call to action on high priority issues.

Fact sheets:   The report includes fact sheets which summarize the conditions of each of the seven lakes.  The fact sheets for the Three Lakes are presented separately here:

Lake Waccabuc
Lake Oscaleta
Lake Rippowam

Full report:  The full report is 180 pages.  It has, in addition to the fact sheets for all seven lakes, a summary of water quality conditions, phosphorus targets, a summary of possible town-wide management actions, recommended strategies, and priority actions.  It’s long, but it’s worth a read.

Attachments:  There are also 113 pages of sample town ordinances and data summaries.  This section is for the dedicated but provides a valuable archive of data.

Mark Arrigo of Ecologic gave this presentation to the Town Board on May 7, 2009.

In 2017 the Town Lakes Committee was disbanded because the committee completed their original mission of grant administration.
