Many of the neighbors at Long Pond Preserve told us that that the concrete catch basin in the stormwater basin was unattractive. So we tried some camouflage to soften the look. We await comments!
So why is this block here to start with? The stormwater basin will treat water from 36 acres and will keep polluted water from entering the lakes. The goal is to have most of the water gradually be absorbed into the ground. The basin is designed to have most of the water exit within 24 hours, so if a lot of rainfall accumulates in the basin, the concrete weir will let some of it out into the wet meadow.
